We Tried Botanically Booba’s Herbal Hair Oil

Date:

Haircare can often be a tough balancing act between internal and external forces. Changes in your hair’s condition, such as dryness, brittleness, or even alopecia, may indicate underlying health problems. While diet, destressing, and supplementation can improve the health of your hair, external oils like Botanically Booba’s Herbal Hair Oil are a great choice to improve and strengthen your hair’s condition.

We happened across Botanically Booba at a local fair and decided to give their Herbal Hair Oil a try. The product quality looked good, but we wanted to know if its efficacy was just as good. Here’s our thorough and complete review after using this hair oil for several months.

What is Botanically Booba’s Herbal Hair Oil

This Herbal Hair Oil is designed to moisturize hair and promote hair growth. The herbal blend contains 17 ingredients that are all-natural and vegan. Many of the herbal ingredients are self-sourced, handgrown, and processed by the small business.

These are the listed ingredients on the bottle: Organic Castor Oil, Golden Jojoba Oil, Vitame E Oil, Infused Oils of Amia, Calendula, Dandelion, Eucalyptus, Fenugreek, Lavender, Mint, Nettle, Rosemary, Sage, Thyme, Organic Rosemary Essential Oil, Organic Peppermint Oil, Organic Lavender Essential Oil.

As a heavy oil, it’s meant to be used only a few times a week. However, use frequency depends on hair type and personal preferences. These kinds of oils typically have a thicker viscosity and stay on the hair and scalp for longer periods of time than light oils.

Botanically Booba’s Hair Growth Oil suggests that it strengthens and reverses damage to dry, brittle hair. It also nourishes the scalp to promote healthy hair growth at the follicles. However, this is not a cure, remedy, or medicine for hair loss. Contact your dermatologist and health care specialist if you are experiencing alopecia or hair loss.

How to use Botanically Booba’s Herbal Hair Oil

The official directions call for users to apply the product to clean hair and scalp. People with long hair (and thick curly hair) should section their hair into four parts and then apply a small amount of the oil. Then users are to massage the oil into the scalp with their fingertips and then comb the oil throughout the hair.

We suggest shaking the bottle well first in order to mix in any sediments that may be floating around. Then apply the oil sparingly throughout the hair. A “dime-size” is a typical sparing amount, but an increase upwards to a quarter-size amount is acceptable for longer hair lengths.

This process should be repeated a few times a week. As previously stated, this is a heavy oil, and it’s not quickly absorbed into the scalp. Frequent use may cause the oil or residue to build up on the scalp.

What We Love About Botanically Booba’s Herbal Hair Oil

Our tester, Spencer Kildare, has 4B texture hair that often has a dry texture and appearance. This hair oil gives his hair a moisturized and healthy appearance. The Herbal Hair Oil serves as a great replacement and complement to some of his favorite oils, such as the popular Wild Growth products. Moreover, he uses the oil for his facial hair.

We appreciate the high level of quality that this hair oil has. Sometimes, homemade and handmade solutions contain sediments and debris because the ingredients don’t blend well. The oil has an impressive consistency and nice viscosity. All good things come to an end because this oil deteriorates to some degree after a few months. However, the degradation is negligible, and the materials easily mix with some shaking.

The price, we love the price! This oil costs $15, which is a tough price to beat for an oil of this size (8 ounces). Usually, hair oils have about 4 fluid ounces and cost around $11, with some prices nearing $20. Purchasers get double the oil for half to 1.5 times the price. It’s a fantastic deal! Moreover, this oil lasts for months, even with daily use, as noted by our tester.

We love the screw-action cap because a simple twist opens or closes the bottle! Sometimes, hair oil bottles come with tiny caps or tips that can be lost or misplaced when in a rush. Twisting the cap is much easier than putting on and removing a cap. The screw-action top helps keep the oil fresh and increases its shelf life.

Other Thoughts About Botanically Booba’s Herbal Hair Oil

There isn’t much to dislike about this hair oil. However, an aspect that gives us some pause is that it has a noticeable “sap-like” smell. The smell likely comes from the sotolon compound that’s found in the oil’s Fenugreek ingredient. While others may not notice, there is a chance that the oil may not pair well with perfumes and body sprays.

The oil’s distinct smell is better suited for those with earthy, rural, and bohemian styles. We found that the oil blends well with musky, earthy, and autumn-centric fragrances. Please note that our tester had no issues wearing the oil with formal wear and contrasting colognes. Consider wearing hair protection, such as a head wrap, to prevent the oil from getting on your bedding if you apply it at night.

Another thing to note is that it will definitely take several months to use up all of the oil in the bottle. This means the efficacy of the oil may decrease by the time all of it is used up. We suggest sharing the oil with a spouse, partner, sibling, or roommate to maximize its effectiveness.

Where to Purchase Botanically Booba’s Herbal Hair Oil

Botanically Booba’s Herbal Hair Oil is purchasable via the Botanically Booba website. The small business can seldom be found at local Westchester County and New York City fairs and markets. Botanically Booba is active on Instagram, and they provide updates through their Stories.

The Verdict

Botanically’s Booba’s Herbal Hair Oil is a great product. It moisturizes hair with a moderate boost to its sheen. Moreover, its $15 price tag is a fantastic value, especially for the amount of product in each bottle. Our tester still has more than 75% of the product left, even after over 5 months of near-daily use.

The Herbal Hair Oil can easily replace or complement other hair oils, even ones from popular brands. Our tester noticed improvements in his hair’s health, such as fewer split ends. Whether you’re looking to start a new hair-care routine or modify an existing one, Botanically Booba’s Herbal Hair Oil is a quality and cost-effective choice.
