Social media has only held cultural relevance for the last eight percent of the United States’ 248-year existence. However, black influencers defied the odds to become breakout fashion sensations in a short amount of time. We’re kicking off Black History Month by showcasing five black American influencers who have made waves across the internet with their impressive fashion content.
There are MANY incredible fashion and style black influencers from around the world including Anna, Eyes Rodgers, and Tiana Kun. Black creators from the Caribbean Islands, South America, Europe, and Africa are gaining large audiences as social media expands. The vast number of beautiful and talented black creators made it a smidge harder to pinpoint African American creators. However, we put together a list of five stylish black influencers that you’ll love as much as we do.
1. Kayla Green
Kayla Green is a model, actress, and dancer. 2020 was the year Green reached her first milestone of 10,000 followers on Instagram. She has since garnered over 240,000 followers due to her amazing content. Her hard work as a content creator has paid off in brilliant fashion. Green has made appearances at PR events, TV & movie screenings, red-carpet events, and fashion week events.

Aliya Will is an accomplished cosplayer, gamer, Twitch streamer, artist, humanitarian, and forest elf (self-proclaimed). She began her YouTube and Twitch journeys in 2019 and 2020 respectively. Will’s unmatched beauty, incredible talent, and gregarious personality have won over the hearts of many. Nani Talent, a talent agency focused on promoting female gamers, represents Will. Will doesn’t make a lot of “public appearances,” though she attends movie screenings and comic/anime conventions.

Let’s not beat around the bush – Aliya Will is gorgeous and her face card is lethal, so it’s hard not to love her! Will often cosplays characters who have a similar skin color to her, such as Casca (Beserk) and Mel (Arcane). However, we love her confidence in cosplaying characters who are male or of a different ethnicity, which some find controversial at times. We love that Aliya achieved multi-platform success as an influencer on Instagram, YouTube, Twitch, and X. But don’t get it twisted – Aliya Will is just as beautiful on the inside as she is out. Who loves Esti? We love Esti! Esti is a black content creator who gained fame on TikTok due to her immaculate face, slender figure, boyish styling, and alternative lifestyle. Her looks and relatable content allowed her to amass 1.3 million followers on TikTok and over 190,000 followers on Instagram. Moreover, Esti’s lesbian relationship and content make her a guiding influencer within the LGBTQ+ community. Esti started posting seriously about three years ago and has achieved so much within her 18 years of living. Esti plans to have a career in real estate and content creation when she finishes college.

We “luv” Esti because she’s a truly unique beauty. Her fashion style is gender-fluid as she mostly dresses in boyish clothing but sometimes wears more feminine attire. If stylin’ and profilin’ was a person – Wisdom Kaye is a Nigerian-American fashion influencer who first gained TikTok prominence when he went viral with his 2020 “Vogue Challenge” video. This 23-year-old icon has an impressive resume as a content creator, director, model, stylist, photographer, and videographer. Kaye became a professional model when IMG Models scouted him through their Social Media Team. He’s since several high-profile red carpet appearances, which include his iconic 2023 Oscars and 2024 MET Gala showings.

He’ll either provide stylish evidence against another creator’s fashion critiques with a stitch/reply, or he’ll take direct outfit challenges from his audience and followers. This man has styled stunning looks through challenges based on dollar amounts, animated shows, Marvel movies, fonts, and so much more. Moreover, the quality of his videos and edits are works of art. Mona Swain is a star whose shine will only get brighter. Swain is an influencer and content creator whose work consists of skits, lifestyle, and fashion content. Her initial claim to fame comes from her viral videos on TikTok, where she’s earned a whopping 1.9 million followers. Her most viral video is a short skit about how she feels when she has a crush. Swain has always had a knack for performance. Her talent and hard work allowed her to transcend content creation into the performing arts world. She worked as an actress in the stage performance of War Paint, and she currently stars as Tina Turner in TINA: The Tina Turner Musical.
